Barrydale is an exceptional and special place that can be visited all year round.  Known as the Gateway to the Overberg and situated at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, this amazing little Karoo village has enduring countryside charm with friendly residents and excellent infrastructure.  The landscape is perfect for great trails and pathways with the more adventurous climbing the Langeberg Mountain.  Barrydale has the perfect climate for winemaking with some of South Africa’s premium wines and brandy’s being produced here, this is not to mention the grapes, apples amongst other delicious fruit which flourish in this area. Barrydale forms part of the popular Route 62. This is a very popular tourist route in South Africa which runs between; and links two major cities; Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Route 62 is also known as the "Mountain Route" and passes through no less than 14 beautiful villages lined by mountain ranges.
