The main purpose of BRACKENHILLS is the conservation of wildlife and indigenous forests. BRACKENHILLS is actively trying to reintroduce and protect the natural wildlife that once abundantly roamed Southern Africa.

Accommodation

Three stylish and luxurious double tented camps are located in beautiful peaceful surroundings and designed to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. 

Enjoy our highly acclaimed full catering with exquisitely prepared traditional African meals, or make use of the open air shared self-catered facilities which include a fully equipped kitchen and braai area.

Mountain View Tent

Tucked in indigenous forest looking out on to the majestic Langeberg mountains, Exceptional ambience and tranquility with breathtaking views. Luxury queen sized bed and furnishings with a relaxing outdoor experience bathroom adjacent to the tent. Attached is a coffee/tea station under cover between the tent and the forest. The tent is close to the covered dining and open air barbecue areas.

Wattle Tree Tent

Beautifully situated amongst the trees, this is a glamour tent with luxury queen sized bed and very comfortable furnishing for two, the bathroom is en suite, tastefully decorated with a natural air to it. This unit has been designed to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. It has it’s own barbeque area or one can share with others in the communal braai and covered dining area.

Redwing Cara Camp

A luxury Cara Camper with a double bed, own lounge, kitchenette, adjoining bathroom opening to a secluded forest and close proximity to the shared dining, barbeque and fully fitted kitchen. Can accommodate 2 adults plus 2 young children.

Forest Tent

Tastefully set within the forest, this luxury tent with over sized bed is immaculately furnishing for two. The large spacious ensuite bathroom has views into the secluded forrest. This is a romantic Luxury Tent that echoes with the beautiful sounds of the forest. There is a private barbeque area or one can network with other guests at the communal braai and covered dining area.

  • Per person sharing  R600 (low season) / R700 (Dec holidays) 
  • Single  R650 (low season) /  R750 (Dec holidays)
  • Child 4-12 sharing R300 (low season) / R350 (Dec holidays)
  • Children under 4yrs stay free


Attractions / Activities

The untouched natural forests and indigenous vegetation borders one of Africa’s most precious nature parks and World Heritage site, the Grootvaderbosch Nature Reserve. There is an abundance of wildlife including the Cape Leopard, African Buffalo, Lynx, Bushbuck, Wild Boar, Greysbok, Klipspringer, Porcupine and over 200 species of birds including the Verraux Eagle, Crowned Eagle and Martial Eagle and many species of butterflies such as the rare “Forest King” and the “Blue Banded Swallowtail”. 

Optional Activities Include:

  • Clay Pigeon Shooting (25 clays) R750 per person
  • Guided Forrest walk with River Swim + Lunch (4h) R225 per person
  • Guided Canyon walk and Swim in the pools + Lunch (4h) R225 per person
  • Forrest Picnic (romantic picnic lunch in the forest)  R250 per person
  • Mountain Bike trails (Conservancy Permit) R65 per person / day
  • Grootvadersbosch day entry fee (payable at GVB) R40 per person / day
